The Properties Panel can be used to adjust properties of a selected element.

The Properties Panel is contextual, meaning it will display certain settings/properties depending on what element is selected. Below is a list of what options are displayed when different elements are selected.

Flavour

Displayed with: Cakes & 3D Cakes

The Flavour property allows you to select a flavour for the selected cake.

The list will only display Recipes that have the Enable as Flavour setting switched ON. After selecting the flavour, pricing will automatically be calculated based on the Flavour Pricing settings. Click here to learn more about Pricing Settings on Elements.

Coatings

Displayed with: Cakes

The Coatings section allows you to add coatings to a cake (eg. ganache or fondant etc.).

The coatings list will only display Ingredients and Recipes that have the Enable as Coating setting switched ON. After selecting the coating, pricing will automatically be calculated based on the Ingredient's or Recipe's Coating Pricing settings. If the pricing unit is set to 'Per Litre', the price will also take the thickness of the coating into account when calculating pricing.

Up to 5 coatings can be added per cake. Cakenote considers the first coating to be the first one that is applied in real life. For this reason, the last Coating on the list will also alter the cakes visual appearance on the canvas (based on Coating Visual settings). This alteration is simply using the Fill Tool to apply the coatings visual automatically, but after applying the coating, you can always open up the Fill Tool and change the visual appearance as you see fit. Click here to learn more about Ingredient's and Recipe's settings.

Extra Work

Displayed with: Cakes

The Extra Work section allows you to add additional pricing (on top of other pricing defined on individual components) to a cake based on what kind of work is involved. For example, if you wish to charge your customers for some kind of complex airbrushing etc.

Extra Work items need to be set up in the Pricing Settings and can be priced Per Item or Per Portion. Click here to learn more about Pricing Settings on Elements.

Board Pricing

Displayed with: Boards

When a Board is added to the Design, initially it has no price. If you wish to charge your customer for the actual Board (not the textile or decorations on the Board), this setting can be used.

Board Pricing needs to be set up in the Pricing Settings and can be priced Per Item or Per 1m². Board pricing can also include costing. Click here to learn more about Pricing Settings on Elements.

3D Cake Pricing

Displayed with: 3D Cakes

This setting is to adjust how much you wish to charge your customers for a particular 3D Cake.

3D Cake Pricing can be set up either on the actual 3D Cake item or in the Pricing Groups. 3D Cakes can be priced Per Item or Per Portion. Board pricing can also include costing. Click here to learn more about Pricing Settings on Elements.

Servings

Displayed with: 3D Cakes

This setting allows you to adjust the number of servings a 3D Cake needs to be. The sole purpose of this setting is to calculate pricing of the 3D Cake as well as Recipe yield.

Please keep in mind that this setting does not relate to the size of the 3D Cake on the canvas. For example, you could specify 100 servings, but have a really small looking 3D Cake on the canvas.

Note: At the moment, the Properties Panel can only be opened when a single element is selected. In future updates, settings will be adjustable while multiple elements are selected.
