When a pattern is applied to an element via the Fill Tool, Surface Decor Tool, Textile Tool or Ribbon Tool, and the pattern fill type is set to 'Tile', the Pattern Controls section will appear within the tool and can be used to adjust how a pattern appears on an element. 

OPACITY: Adjusts the opacity (transparency) of the pattern.

SCALE: Adjusts the size of the pattern. If this is adjusted, the SCALE HORIZONTAL and SCALE VERTICAL controls will match this setting.

​SCALE HORIZONTAL: Adjusts the size of the pattern horizontally.

SCALE VERTICAL: Adjusts the size of the pattern vertically.

PADDING: Adjusts the amount of padding between each tile.

MOVE HORIZONTAL: Offsets the pattern horizontally.

MOVE VERTICAL: Offsets the pattern vertically.

If the pattern fill type is set to 'Fill', the only control available will be the OPACITY and the pattern will automatically be the width of the element it is applied to.
