Text on the canvas can be used for including inscriptions or sometimes you may want to use text to explain parts of your design to your customers or take visual notes to refer to when making the cake in the real world. 

To do this, you can use the Text Box icon from the Canvas Tools. 

After adding a Text Box to the canvas, it will be added to the Layers panel as an "image only" layer and the Text Box Settings dialogue will appear. 

We have added a range of different types of fonts that we think will be useful in Cakenote. If you feel there should be more fonts available, feel free to let us know.

On the Text Box Settings panel, you can also adjust font size, line height, alignment and decoration (bold, italic and underline).
